Google is adding many requested features to Android 12 , one of which is scrolling screenshots. First introduced in Android 12 Beta 3 , the scrolling screenshots feature lets you take full-page screenshots, meaning you no longer need to manually capture and then combine multiple screenshots. Google's approach to the feature is different from how most OEMs have implemented it, and as a result it doesn't work in all applications yet. One of the most prominent apps where you can't scroll the screenshot is Google Chrome, but that's about to change. When Google designed the animated screenshot feature, they didn't want to follow the same approach that many OEMs have taken. Most OEM implementations include automatic downloads when capturing individual screenshots to merge with the end of the page, but this can result in images not being linked together. Instead, Android version 12 works directly with Seen , the basic building block of user interface components in Android apps.
This approach makes Android 12 faster and more reliable, but Belize Phone Number List at the same time less versatile. Google says that scrolling screenshots work automatically for most apps that use the standard View-based UI, but web pages in the View view don't have this feature. For developers whose apps don't use a View-based UI or use a custom UI instead, Google recommends rolling out the new Android 12. The ScrollCapture API provides information about the captured view of the manuscript recording system. This is exactly how Chrome developers plan to add support for taking full-page screenshots in Android 12. In a commit to the Chromium Gerrit, Chrome engineers are preparing to add support for Android 12's ScrollCapture API. Commit to executing ScrollCapture in Google Chrome The code implements the ScrollCaptureManager class to use the rendered snapshots of the active tab for a long screenshot.
Chrome provides color previews using tab images , which are essentially moments that represent the visual content of a website. Paint Preview is the key to Chrome's Quick Tabs feature , which displays an interactive preview of the tab while the actual tab loads in the background. However, you cannot take complete screenshots of every website. This feature doesn't seem to work in AMP right now, and the developers also believe it won't work on pages with multiple scrollable areas. However, it is possible that these issues will be resolved before the feature is implemented in Google Chrome. After the merge commit, scroll capture support is disabled behind the "scroll-capture" feature flag. Even so, the feature will initially only be available to users with the Canary build.
